Chocolate City Signs First Female Artist, Pryse.

Some of us might have suspected but now we can confirm that Chocolate City has officially signed their first female artist, Pryse.

Pryse who has been buzzing on the internet for a few years is now officially a “Choc Boi.” Her track Femcee Toh Badt was one of the hottest track by a female rapper at the time frame that it was released and if you paid attention, you might have peeped the line “My bars so sweet, might be turning chocolate.”

Pryse had this to say when we talked to her “I feel excited. Plus now I can tell people! I’ve been waiting 4 my shot. Now I got it.”

Pryse is featured on MI’s soon to be released Illegal Music 2 mixtape. MI Abaga had this to say on his twitter page “Ladies and Gents… It’s Official… @itspryse (Pryse) is the first official Choc Girl!!! Welcome to the fam!!!”

Things are definitely looking good for the femcee Pryse, and Chocolate City adds a new dimension to their label. Big things coming up.

Chris Brown And Rihanna Reunite On ‘Cake’ Remix by MTV News

It was only a matter of time. For the past few weeks the world has been at a stand still with rumors swirling of one time lovebirds Rihanna and Chris Brown working with each other again. Just in time for her 24th birthday C Breezy and Rihanna made their reunion official releasing the remix to Ri’s “Birthday Cake” track.

On the Internz/The-Dream produced record, Breezy adds his melodies to the song crooning about his fantasies to blow the candles out on Rihannas cake.

“Girl I wanna f–k you right now. Been a long time I been missing your body” Brown sings on the remix. “Lemme, lemme turn the lights down. When I, when I go down it’s a private party.”

During the 2012 Grammy Awards weekend word began to spread that Rihanna and Brown were spotted at the same event with some reports suggesting the two were seen holding hands. A day later “Cake” producers Da Internz hinted Rihanna was getting ready to release a “big” remix with a special guest that would “shock the world.”

“We got the Rihanna ‘Birthday Cake’ coming out in a week,” a bespectacled Kosine told MTV News on the red carpet of the Pepsi-sponsored ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Brunch, held over the Grammy weekend.

“It’s gonna be crazy,” his production partner, Tuo, said shaking his head.

“And the feature on there is gonna shock the world,” Kosine chimed.

Words never lie.

Three years after their infamous fallout at the Grammy Awards Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together again … at least musically. Clearly the start of a new beginning. Stay tuned.

Bobby Brown Leaves Whitney Houston’s Funeral Over Seating by Sowmya Krishnamurthy, with additional reporting by Rebecca Thomas

Bobby Brown did not attend the funeral services of his ex-wife, singer Whitney Houston, in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (February 18). Brown arrived and left after a disagreement with security over his seating inside the New Hope Baptist Church, a source confirmed to MTV News.

In a statement released to the press by his rep, Brown explained, “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move.

“Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina,” the singer continued. “In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

Whitney Houston’s funeral, or Home-Going, was held on Saturday at noon, and the Reverend Al Sharpton, who was also in attendance, weighed in on Brown’s arrival and departure in a series of tweets.

“I am at Whitney’s funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney!” Sharpton wrote a little after 1:15 p.m.

In a subsequent tweet, the MSNBC personality pleaded on behalf of Brown’s case. “We are out of the service. I don’t want anyone distorting Bobby Brown. He has shown love and respect today. Stop hatin’ ”

The traditional Baptist ceremony was a celebration of Houston’s life, rooted in the church and her New Jersey upbringing.

An array of family friends, including Dionne Warwick, BeBe & CeCe Winans along with luminaries like Clive Davis, Stevie Wonder and Kevin Costner, who starred with Houston in the 1992 hit film “The Bodyguard,” spoke and performed. Among the others in attendance were actor/producer Tyler Perry Mariah Carey, who shared the 1998 duet “When You Believe” with Whitney.

Robin Thicke Arrested For Marijuana Possession In NYC by Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Robin Thicke was arrested for marijuana possession in New York City on Friday (February 17), according to reports.

The 34-year-old “Lost Without You” singer was apprehended near Manhattan’s Madison Square Park after he was pulled over for throwing something out of the window of his Cadillac Escalade, a source told Access Hollywood. Police reportedly opened the cigarette box in the vehicle and found an unknown amount of marijuana. Thicke was taken to a police station and issued a summons before being dismissed. He was reportedly held for 15 minutes and signed autographs for the staff while in the station.

No official statement has been made from Thicke or his reps on the charges.

Thicke released his fifth studio album, Love After War, in December. His single “Pretty Lil’ Heart” featuring Lil Wayne was released in November. The duo had previously collaborated on “Shooter” and “Shoot Me Down,” from Wayne’s Tha Carter II and Tha Carter III albums, respectively. Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, had their first child, Julian Fuego, in April 2010.

Will Rihanna’s ‘Birthday Cake’ Feature Chris Brown?

It all began earlier this week, when the production duo known as Da Internz told MTV News that their upcoming remix of Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake” featured a super-secret cameo that would “shock the world.”

Almost immediately after they made that comment, speculation began to run rampant that it was Rihanna’s ex, Chris Brown, who features on the track, and though there was no confirmation from any of the artists’ reps, the rumors not only persisted but seemingly gained momentum — especially given reports that Brown attended Rihanna’s birthday party earlier in the week.

On Thursday, Hot 97’s Miss Info took things to the next level, writing on her blog that Brown does indeed feature on the “Cake” remix, citing a pair of “independent sources” who confirmed the news. She added that Brown contributed both a singing verse and a rap verse to the track, though it wasn’t clear if both would end up on the remix.

Of course, that probably comes as news to Da Internz, who have denied that Brown features on the remix. In a subsequently deleted tweet, they responded to a Rihanna fan’s question about whether the song would feature Brown with a succinct — and all-caps — “NOPE.”

Wrapped up in all this are newly circulating photos that seem to show Brown and Rihanna embracing at her birthday party in Beverly Hills, perhaps confirming that they’ve reunited. There had been no comment from either artist’s camp on the pictures as of press time, though in the days following the party, TMZ reported that all guests were asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, supposedly at Brown’s insistence.

There’s still been no official word on when the “Birthday Cake” remix will be released (some reports suggest it’ll be out next week), and reps for Da Internz, Brown and Rihanna did not respond to MTV News’ request for comment on the track — meaning that, like the rest of the world, we’re just going to have to wait to learn the identity of RiRi’s mystery collaborator.
